Profile

Nagarsheth Shipbreakers, is one of the leading pioneers of the shipbreaking industry in India.

Nagarsheth Shipbreakers, played a crucial role in the creation of the Alang shipbreaking yard, which is one of the biggest shipbreaking yards in Asia.

We have been a proud associate of various Governmental Organizations, playing a vital role in the policy-making decisions for the shipbreaking industry.

Over the years we has procured and dismantled 40 ships, with a total tonnage of approximately 349000. Our existing capacity is 50000 LDT tones per year.

From 1965 to 1983, our operations were carried out from Darukhana, Mumbai

Due to the geographical limitations of Mumbai port, a maximum of 25 ships could be dismantled at a time.

In order that India maintained a competitive edge, shipbreakers from Mumbai took an initiative and scouted the Western Coast of Gujarat and Maharashtra, to find a conducive site for the shipbreaking activities.

Nagarsheth Shipbreakers played a lead role in the finalization of the Alang shipbreaking yard. THE EASTERN LEGEND, procured by us in the year 1983, was the first ship to be cleared by the Customs at Alang.

Nagarsheth Shipbreakers , is a private organization.

Each of our core members have carved a niche for themselves within the organization.
