Profile

During the eighties and early nineties, the shipbreaking activities were canalized. Registered companies were restricted by Metal Scrap Trade Corp. Ltd. – a Govt. of India undertaking, to only 1 ship for dismantling per year.

Nagarsheth Shipbreakers, saw a real growth from 1992 onwards, when import was permitted under Open General License (OGL).

We currently have the capacity to dismantle around 50000 tonnes per year.

The Biggest ship dismantled by us was a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier), M.T. Pelopidas V of about 33521 LDT

Our second biggest ship was the M.V. Niizuru an ore carrier, which was 28414 LDT.
